Under guidance from a Transport Inspector (level 4), in this role, you will undertake on-road enforcement of various Acts and Regulations controlling the operations of heavy vehicles. You will inspect heavy vehicles for compliance and enforcement in areas such as regulatory mass and dimension limits, road worthiness, security of loads and carriage of dangerous and hazardous goods. Furthermore, you will interview operators to ascertain compliance with permits and notices, suspected breaches of licensing requirements (drivers/vehicle) and accreditation standards including fatigue management. Conducting investigations will be a key component of this role, drawing on your comprehensive research and analysis skills.
To be successful in this role, you will use your understanding of heavy vehicles and strong research and analysis skills to do your part in helping Main Roads achieve a safe road network throughout the state.
Please note this role operates in regional and metro locations, applicants must be willing and able to undertake rostered country shifts travelling via air/or road.
