Senior Accountant
Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is a pivotal role that will ensure the integrity of BNTAC’s financial operations, compliance, and reporting. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee day-to-day financial activities, support governance and risk management, and provide trusted financial advice to enable BNTAC to deliver on its strategic and community priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and cash flow management.

Deliver accurate and timely month-end and year-end processes, including accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.

Support preparation of annual financial statements and external audits.

Maintain registers for grants, contracts, and insurance while tracking obligations and compliance requirements.

Review and approve payroll journals, invoices, purchase orders, and funding payments.

Ensure compliance with relevant employment awards, tax obligations, and superannuation requirements.

Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and Board reporting.

Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.

Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
About You
You’re highly detail-oriented, steady under pressure, and able to balance the demands of day-to-day finance with the bigger strategic picture.
You will have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CA/CPA highly desirable).

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferred.

Strong knowledge of month-end/year-end processes.

Proven ability to prepare financial statements and audit files.

Excellent Excel skills and financial systems literacy (Xero proficiency highly desirable).

Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring finance staff.

High attention to detail, with excellent communication and organisational skills.

A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
-
Demonstrated cultural competence and respect when working with Aboriginal people and communities.
Experience in not-for-profit organisations or Aboriginal Corporations will be highly regarded.

In partnership with CSI Mining Services, PMWI are now seeking the next generation of PMWI Employees through the Mining Services Trainee Operator Program, commencing in March 2026.
The Opportunity
The Operator Traineeship is a unique and dynamic program that allows you to experience the mining industry and develop your skills in a safe and supportive environment.
The Traineeship will see you complete site based, practical on-the-job training at one of our remote sites gaining experience across a variety of crushing equipment including conveyors, stackers and screens, in addition to auxiliary mobile equipment including loaders, skid steers and telehandlers.
This is the perfect opportunity for you to kick start your career with no previous mining experience required!

✔ A formalised Traineeship program (usually 12-24 months in duration) that combines work with study through an RTO to provide a nationally recognised qualification on completion (Certificate III in Resource Processing)

Our expectation of you:
✔ Willingness to work in remote mine sites, up to 12 hours a day, roster includes 8 days of dayshift, 6 days off, 7 days of nightshift and then having 7 days off work (8/6/7/7 roster)
✔ Hold a current C class driver’s licence (No Provisional Drivers Licence)
✔ A national police clearance within 12 months (or ability to gain prior to commencing)
✔ To pass a pre-employment medical examination and ongoing fitness for work assessments (including regular drug and alcohol testing)
✔ 100% commitment to complying with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures
✔ To be passionate about a long-term career in mining and to be keen, willing and able to learn a variety of new skills related to fixed plant crushing & processing environments
✔ A flexible and enthusiastic attitude to work and training
✔ Capable of working in a busy, hands-on environment with strong time management skills
✔ The ability to work as part of a successful team with well-rounded communication skills
